AI Slop Won’t Stop

AI Slop Won’t Stop

The AI slop will never stop.

It’s easier than ever to generate AI videos at scale and post them to YouTube.

One channel has already generated over 21,000 page views in a matter of days based on short form videos created using Sora 2.

The channel was created in an effort to show how easy it is to use OpenAI’s new short form video tool and post videos designed for clicks. It took the author of the article less than 30 minutes to build and deploy from scratch.

Each video took less than 60 seconds to create from a simple prompt.

And the entire process can be entirely automated if you want it to be using Sora’s API.

The creator did not even try to hide the fact that the videos are generated using AI, leaving watermarks in place and identifying the use of AI within YouTube for each video.

It doesn’t matter to viewers that the videos use AI, the entertainment value of the video itself is what they’re interested in.

And by using YouTube, the videos can be monetized.

A brand new revenue stream, with all the AI slop you can handle.

And he didn’t post any of the videos to TikTok, which will offer more revenue opportunities.

A recent study estimated that over 50% of the content on the web is AI generated.

And it will get worse given the availability of tools like Sora 2 that make it easy.

This presents a distinct opportunity for creators to stand out with original work that can potentially carry a premium based on quality.

Too much slop will inadvertently create a market for original work that has the potential to emotionally connect and cut through the mass of slop.

The use of AI doesn’t shut off the opportunity to create high quality work as an alternative.
